Man says faux pistols pose threat to youth

FORT WAYNE-Darnell Tinker never dreamed that as an adult, he would be fighting over a toy. This is precisely what happened recently when he found himself in a battle to save the life of a young man.

It all started over a week ago when Tinker was cleaning around the house he shares with his girlfriend and her 17 year old son, whom he regards as his step-son. That's when he finally entered into a physical altercation with the youth to take what appeared to be a millimeter or nine.380 caliber automatic pistol, a weapon Tinker said no child or young person conducting a business.

"I put stuff in the room and he went to this and it stuck in his belt, as was the real thing. I could not in my house, "said Tinker.
