OK, so I do not work too hard this week, but I still like Friday! Today was my third and last day of endodoncia. There were 6 graduate students here today, as yesterday, and things were fairly simple. We had a freak 11-yr Old girl alittle. She cried almost the entire four hours of the procedure. Yes, there are children getting root canals. In fact, the clinic is the largest endodoncia ... if the root canals are fairly commonplace.Many times it is very easy to isolate the tooth, because there are no others around him ... ... Each of you out there who have all your teeth should be thankful today, and especially if they are white and fairly simple!
Today I learned that students do not pay for dental school here because it is public and financed by the government. They do, however, have to pay for their post-grad (for specialization). One thing I did not notice until today is that students in the clinic should bring their own instruments and materials.It seems that an entire configuration process for cleaning them, and lasts from 8 to noon or later! It seems quite difficult for patients too. I only heard complaints about the root canal, but I bet that procedures in the United States are not as painful as they are there!...
